Name: Lalaa Misaki
Living in: PARIS
Bio: My name is Lalaa Misaki. I like to say that I have a French passport but I am a citizen of the world ! My background is very diverse, so I always find it entertaining when people try to "figure me out" . I am black, yellow, red, white and everything in between. However the only color I really care about is the next nail polish I'll buy...
What do you do and how did you get started?
I am a Paris-based Manicurist and Nail Art Expert. I was inspired to start doing nail art during my first trip in New York. During this girlfriends getaway, I was fascinated by the unique Big Apple vibe and environment. I instantly felt the urge to incorporate it in my personal style. My colourful nail designs are inspired by my multicultural heritage, travel, fashion, manga and architecture.
What does travelling with other girlfriends mean to you and when was the last time you did it?
It is something very dear to my heart as that is how I started my career (as explained above). As women we have so many personal and professional responsibilities and often care more about others than ourselves. Travelling with your best friends is the perfect opportunity to exhale and let go...Girly holidays are an infinite source of inspiration for me and I always look forward to the next trip !
Where in the world do you feel your happiest?
Laying on a deckchair, up high in the hills of my secluded family property in sunny Haiti listening to good reggae music !
Tell us something funny about you...
I don't think I will ever get over the fact that Tyson Beckford liked my picture on instagram...ever...(we comment: CONGRATS LADY!!)
What is your travelling kit composed of ? What are your essentials?
Nail polish for days, make-up and most importantly water spray, fashion magazines, all kind of shoes and iPod.
What is your 2013 summer jam?
I have a few on my playlist. Can't get enough of Pharell Williams this summer, keeps me going ! "Get Lucky" with Daft Punk and "Blurred lines" with Robin Thicke. For a more romantic atmosphere, "Body party" by Ciara and "Fire we make" by Alicia Keys feat. Maxwell . By the way, if you are ever in NYC, stop by The Village Underground on a Sunday night for the best Soul & R&B open Mic in the world !
Which one of our upcoming glam escapes would you be most interested in joining and why?
, Indonesia ! I have yet to travel to Asia and connect with this part of my heritage.
Thanks for this lovely interview Lalaa, we will come to Paris soon to try your amazing nail art on us too! Looking forward to have you within our Glam Travelling crew, maybe in Bali!
